Keeping toys clean

Children love to play with toys and as a parent you should be happy to let them do so since most toys help them to build their social skills and learn how to use their imagination. As a parent you no doubt know which toys are our child’s favorite items, but what you also need to know is that their favorite toys are also probably the dirtiest toys in the house.

It is easy to remember to keep the house tidy, but it can be harder to remember that you have to keep a home clean as well. The good news is that it is not that hard to actually keep toys clean if you get into the habit of cleaning them on a regular basis.

Plastic toys that are not electronic or utilize batteries can be placed into the dishwasher making it simple to clean them. This is due to the fact that the hot water will sanitize them. Toys that cannot go in the dishwasher can simply be washed by hand with regular soap and hot water.

If they have food stains on them then you will want to wash them with a mixture of water and vinegar. Vinegar is a great cleaner due to the fact that it has antibacterial properties and is much milder than the antibacterial cleansers and wipes that you buy at the store.

You can use vinegar solutions for a lot of other things as well such as cleaning off the seats or for cleaning the handlebars on toys that your children ride on. You can toss other softer items like stuffed animals into the washing machine and then you can dry them out in the dryer or simply place them out in the sun during the summer months.
