Child safety improved by Jackloc

Jackloc, a company based in Leicestershire has just unveiled a new, unique and totally hassle free childproof window lock which aims to save children’s lives whilst also bringing peace of mind to their parents.

Every year thousands of young children in the UK suffer serious injuries by falling through windows and several lose their lives. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents has estimated that around 4000 children under the age of 15 are hurt in this kind of accident every year.

Family-run firm Jackloc, which created the first window restrictor of its kind over 10 years ago, is launching a brand new child-proof design to help save young lives in family homes.

The metal cable restrictor – which has already generated massive interest worldwide – is also easy to use, featuring a ‘push and turn’ design which doesn’t need a key to lock it in position or release it.

Emma Wells, Director of Jackloc, said: “The ‘push and turn’ design is aimed at making the lock as child-proof as possible without the need for a key – it is based on the idea of a medicine bottle cap which needs to be pushed and turned at the same time to open it.

“The restrictor is ideal for family homes as it can’t be tampered with by a young child and you don’t have to worry about any window lock keys getting lost or mislaid. It can easily be fitted to windows and also doors to prevent children getting onto balconies. Launching this new lock is all part of our work to save lives by reducing the risk of falls all over the world.”

The new style of Jackloc is produced in a range of colours, including red, blue, green, yellow, gold, silver and brushed bronze, to fit in with different decors.
