Befana Drama book to be exclusive signed and given to children at hotel in the Lakes

Those lucky children who are staying at the 4 star Lake District hotel the Lindeth Howe Country House in the autumn half term holidays (25th October-3rd November) will receive a special treat which is exclusive to the Bowness hotel.

The kids will arrive to find a copy of The Befana Drama, signed by the author Gianna Hartwright on their pillow. This book has been hailed by critics as the most magical of books and perfect for Christmas 2013. The Befana Drama is also said to be the ultimate adventure story based around broomsticks and comes complete with witch dust to make everything wonderful.

The book also contains various Christmas traditions from both Italy and England and features larger than life characters such as the VIPB’s, or Very Important Present Bringers.

Lindeth Howe is the first hotel in the country to have this book, which is set to become a big hit both sides of the Atlantic in the run-up to Christmas.  This supports Lindeth Howe’s position as a ‘literary hotel’, as it was once owned by Beatrix Potter, as a private residence for her mother.  Beatrix wrote and illustrated ‘The Tale of Pigling Bland’ and ‘The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes’ from the property and Pigling Bland is celebrating his 100th birthday this year!

Children staying at Lindeth Howe have their own special high tea and can also enjoy swimming in the indoor pool.  There are six-acre gardens to explore and cruises on Windermere are just a short walk or drive away.

The hotel has a 2AA Rosette dining room and provides fabulous and hearty Cumbrian breakfasts for all the family.  It also has a child-sitting service available, at which some of ‘The Befana Drama’ could be read!

With therapeutic treatments available, a sauna and delightful and comfy lounges in which to snuggle into a settee or chair by a roaring fire and read any book, the Lindeth Howe is well worth investigating.

A variety of rooms are available, with lake or garden views and different levels of comfort, according to what the individual guest wants.  Head to to discover more and book or call 015394 45759.  Families wishing their child to have a personalised signed book can simply ask!
