We here all the time about talented people being spotted in unusual circumstances and becoming famous, and Samsung mobile have tapped into this with a fantastic new contest known as ‘Stage’.  The emphasis is on the fact that talent is everywhere and it is a YouTube based talent contest where you get to show off your special talents.

There is a great prize of $25,000 and the chance to star in a professionally shot video to showcase your talent, whatever it may be. There are two videos to accompany the promotion one of which shows a football match between two teams made up of young girls. One scores a fantastic goal and then celebrates by doing some gymnastic style backwards tumbling across the pitch.

The moments are being captured by proud parents on their Samsung smartphone and the emphasis is on the fact that this young girl, as well as being a talented footballer, is also a skilled gymnast.

The second video is a montage of shots of talented people showing what they can do. This can be absolutely anything, from the unusual to the artistic, and features shots of a BMX biker, and young boy karate chopping a melon and a couple catching doughnuts. This video serves to show the wide variety of skills that can be classed as talents and showing the amazing things that can be done as part of everyday life.

To enter the contest simply download the app, take a video on your Samsung mobile showing the talent at its best and load it onto YouTube following the links. This is a brilliant talent contest in that it literally includes all sorts of feats, so if you have a party piece that others find impressive, get a video taken of you performing your skill and upload it. Someone has to win the £25k, and that person could be you.

Children are invited to imagine how their own superhero would look like, dress up as a superhero, color in a design that parents can pick up at Northern Rock, or send in a photograph of themselves dressed up like a superhero.  Children that take part in the competition have a shot at a £100 High Street voucher given out by age.

Age categories are split from birth to four years old, five to nine, and ten to 16 years of age and independent judges from each brand will choose one winner from each category to award a £25 High Street voucher.   Brand winners then get to move onto to the national level for a shot at a £100 High Street voucher.
To enter, interested parties can visit any of Northern Rock’s branches and pick up an entry form, which can either be completed in branch or taken away and returned no later than 3rd September 2011. All winners will be notified by 24 October 2011. Full terms and conditions are available in branches.

Launched in April last year, the Little Rock’s top-paying access account at 3.00% gross* pa/AER**, is available through Northern Rock’s branch network, and by post, to customers aged under 16. It must be opened with an appropriate adult named on the account as a trustee.

Little Rock can be opened by cash, cheque or by transfer from an existing Northern Rock account. There is a maximum balance limit of £10,000, and all trustees are required to sign for any withdrawals. All withdrawals are notice free.

The competition is open nationwide and simply involves Facebook entry which makes it a choice for almost any grassroots rugby club that has a player with a few seconds on their hands.  Fifty of those who compete in the AEG campaign will receive shirts that have been designed by Samurai and a washer and dryer straight from AEG that can be used to keep their clothes fresh and crisp despite the harshest falls and the harshest weather conditions.  With the AEG appliances in place, players can stop worrying about their clothes and playing to win the way the game is meant to be carried out.

Even better, if your team is one of the lucky teams that wins you not only get a full set of Samurai sportswear team kits for free, helping to offset the costs of the new season, but you also get the chance to design the kit for your team on your own.  Therefore, you can add in the team colours and even your own logo to make the kits really speak to your team and something that you can cherish for the lfie of the kits; which of course should be pretty lengthy given the fact you have brand new AEG laundry facilities to wash them in.

Applicants for the campaign must be over the age of 16, meaning kids will need to ask their coaches or parents to apply for them, but the challenge is only open to teams that are composed of children that are under the age of 16.  Therefore, make sure that you have a guardian or parent acting to represent the appropriate age group before applying, even if the idea of designing a shirt is too hard to want to wait for.

Those interested simply need to head to www.aeg.co.uk and search for the AEG laundry kit application.  To win a bit more, consider heading over to the AEG Facebook page and uploading a photo that shows the team you are applying on behalf of in their muddiest state out on the game field.  The winning team will get to head to Twickenham to train with the England rugby team which is pretty much any budding rugby stars’ ultimate dream.  Plus, you will even get to play on the England field for a bit so make sure your photo is worth a thousand words.

You can enter this competition as a sole competitor, or in a group of up to 3 members. The only real restriction is that you must be aged between 13-18 to enter. If you haven’t got one already, you will also need a Google account to enter. Once you have done that, you just fill in the entry form on the Google Science Fair website at www.google.com/events/sciencefair and press submit. After submission, there is a link on the confirmation page which takes you to the project submission area.

Don’t rush into this part, take your time and look at the samples given. You must plan your project, then carry out your experiment, and finally record the results. Ensure that you complete all the sections on the project submission page. You must also create either a show of 20 slides or a 2 minute video. This should show your project from inception through to the result.

This must be all completed correctly and submitted the 4^th of April. There are plenty of tips and instructions to help you with our submission. These can be found in the Resources section of the website. There are 7 buttons along the top of the home screen. These can be clicked on to gain information regarding the Science Fair and also the competition.

The prizes for this competition are pretty impressive. A single winner and an accompanying adult get the trip of a lifetime to the Galapagos Islands. The trip is for 10 days and includes flights and accommodation. If a team wins, Google will split a $50,000 scholarship equally between he members. This bursary is intended to be used towards the cost of further education. There are many other prizes available, just click on the P for prizes button to see all the rest.

There are three age groups, 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18. Each of these groups will have a winner, and the grand winner will be one of those three. This kind of competition is always extremely popular, so make sure your entry is in on time, and is completed correctly.

An infinitely cooler alternative to traditional skipping, skip-hop is a fusion of sports skipping and street dance that first rocketed to fame in the CBBC series Jump Nation. skip-hop is officially the hippest way for kids to keep fit, and all they need to get started is a skipping rope!  The search is on to find which kid has the ultimate moves to be named skip-hop champion 2010.

Panda Drinks are looking for kids aged 12 or under who thinks they might have what it takes to record a short film of them showing of their best skip-hop techniques (no more than one minute in length).   To make the grade skip-hoppers will have to demonstrate the speed, agility, skill and creativity needed to make it as a future skip-hop star!

Here are some more hints and tips to help you take your skipping to the next level before you enter:

• Explore the Panda Does skip-hop section of the site, including skip-hop UK’s brilliant tutorial video!
• Choose some of your favourite skip-hop moves and link them together to make a routine, practice so that one move flows into the next.
• Use simple moves as a link between more tricky moves to help you keep the routine steady.
• Practise your complete skip-hop routine, once you can perform it three times in a row with no mistakes you are ready to film!
• Keep you routine simple and practice it to music to help you keep your rhythm.  A simple routine with no mistakes is better than complicated moves that go wrong!
• Get an adult to help film you skipping and make sure they hold the camera still!
• Download the Panda Guide to skip-hop for even more great tips and ideas.
• Extra prizes will be awarded for the most original routine, the skip-hopper having the most fun, the skip-hop routine that makes us laugh the most and lastly the best synchronized routine with two or more skippers!

Skip-hop UK will judge the entries and name the champion who will win a fantastic Eurocamp seven-night family getaway at any of its parcs.  The ideal opportunity to perfect those skip-hop moves in the open air!

Two skip-hoppers will be chosen as runners up, both becoming a skip-hop star for a day when the guys from skip-hop visit their school to deliver a skip-hop workshop and a skip-hop presentation to the whole school with them as the star! + a goodie bag containing everything they need to take their skipping to the next level and a year’s supply of Panda to keep their thirst quenched while they practice.
